Sweet Weekends

ahhhhh-nother weekend come and gone.
And in case you're wondering... Landon feels kinda crummy about Mondays too...

You may not be counting your weekends but I'm counting mine. And right now the count shows only 3 weekends left in our Richmond, VA home. *tear

this is us, the first day in our house, 3 years ago!

We spent a lot of time out in the "country" this weekend. (really just all day Saturday) Lucas took me to a place they call "Bodatious". Basically crowds of rednecks that call themselves country boys having fun. It's a huge farm turned field and mud pit. Every weekend of the summer it's taken over by campers and mud lovin' fools. These people know how to have a good time. And their kind of good time requires two things... mud and beer. I'm good for about one day of this craziness. And man, did I miss me some day drinking!

One of the nights this weekend we braved the restaurant scene with Landon. Landon is our wild child. He is a curious one and can hardly sit still. Thankfully, the jukebox kept him rather entertained during our Friday night dinner. Those baha taco's you saw on Instagram... they were from here and I made them again on Sunday. Total Success! Wanna know how?

The time I wanted by the pool was a little misinterpreted but that's ok, we already had a full weekend and water fun at home allowed us to get other things done at the same time, like yard work and car washes.

I got the snuggle time I wanted with my niece. She's such a good little baby and so pretty in pink  :)

Race bibs went out over the weekend and lots of you already ran your 5K's!!!! I'm pumped for all of us and can't wait to see everybody's recap! I'm running mine on Wednesday with a friend who also signed up!
Enjoy every mile of the 3.1, I'm so happy we're all doing this together!! Such an awesome and healthy way to Kickoff the Summer!

Sooo, we wish everyone a great Monday and awesome week!
Time for me keeps standing still. I just find myself looking around at all the same things but it all looks just a little different. These damn army moves always get me sentimental and full of emotions. I'm sure some of my blogging efforts will scale back a bit over these next few weeks as we declutter and prep for the movers!
Just sayin'!!

Did you already run your 5K? Get in any weekend workouts?
How do you handle the bittersweetness of moves?

  8. My mouth is (literally) watering from those fish tacos.. yum!! Pregnant women should not blog--I want to eat all of the yummy foods I see in pictures!!

I'll be thinking about you guys as you prepare to move--moving is tough but I really think you'll love the Springs! I still want to plan a girls night or double date once you are settled in! And hey, once I have the baby, we can take Landon and Baby Sandmeier to "Santa's Workshop" (just north of the Springs--SUCH a fun place!!) :D

  11. Oh man, last weekend was our last weekend in our place before we move. And we spent all weekend packing. Its miserable. I've been doing nothing but packing for two weeks, my house is a wreck of boxes and almost un-livable AND now I'm anxious about getting things unpacked on the other end. I'm not handling it well- I've been a ball of stress. I do well with order and our lives are complete disorder right now. Wow, how's that for a downer?

  12. We've been in our place almost 10 years and are planning to move in the next year. I can't imagine the last weekend.

I ran an 8k with my husband and Dad this weekend. I'm starting a 4-week fitness challenge too. Chek it out. Link up at http://www.themmmychronicles.com
