Sweet Weekends

How cool is that sign of LOVE?!
Each year Dominion Riverrock creates this sign as a way to kickoff a weekend long sports event. It takes over downtown Richmond's riverfront offering dozens of outdoor sport contests, a constant stream of local bands and tons of delish foods. Normally we're just spectators of the events but this year we signed up for the Friday night filthy muddy 5K. This picture is after we cleaned up and changed out clothes!

This 5K was quite the challenge! The trail took us on highway along side cars and through trails of hills and nature made obstacles, even a dip into the muddy river although we weren't nearly as "muddy" as expected. We did well ending with a time of 36 minutes and left our muddy sneakers behind as a part of "Soles for the City" and I begged Lucas to never wear a shirt like that again! ha!

Saturday night was all about the bride to be! A group of us girls got together for an epic night out.  I feel like I had the best of both worlds this weekend. One night out with hubby and one night out with my girlie girls.

Sunday was "recovery" day. No really, a race and a night out made me feel 80! Lucas took Lance to see Ironman and Landon was my little helper in the kitchen. You need a day like this where nothing is planned and wearing pajama's all day is perfectly acceptable :)
