I'm happy to be linking up again with Nikki for 30 miles in 30 days!
Awesome thing about running (solo, in a crowd or with a buddy) is that the run feels like it's all about you. It's time to filter and work through thoughts or relish and cherish in the good stuff of the day. Just you, your own pace and rhythm... and a little Krewella, Selena, and JT.
My knee has been cooperative all week. It has it's pangs but I'm trying to be more preventative and careful. I'm continuing the KT Tape, foam rolling, pressure strap and icing. Seems really high maintenance but it's totally worth it. If you ever find yourself miles from home with a knee that won't bend you'll want all those "security blankets" to keep it from ever happening again!
Last weeks recap had me at 22 miles. This week I
Monday night I hit the gym, "stepped" by booty off for an hour. I love when they rotate instructors, Monday nights choreography was all new and all challenging. I was actually sore the next day. SCORE! Wednesday, I met up with my friend for a run back at the river trails. Clearly I'm a bit obsessed with this new to me running path :) We had all intentions of nailing the 3.5 miles but it seems knee pain is contagious... her knee started aching a mile in. No beuno. I gave her my knee strap and we walked our happy, out of breath butts back to the car. I'll be running this evening to make up for that!
This weeks mileage:
Saturdays Filthy Muddy 5K = 3.1miles
Mondays Step Class = lets just call it cardio this week, no mile count
Wednesdays River Trail Run = 2 miles
Total so far for May:
27.1 miles!!!!
Total so far for May:
27.1 miles!!!!
All The Way Strong!
I want to know how you're doing this month!
Do you call your run "me time" like I do?!
Found a new path that you're lovin'?
I love running with Michael around our neighborhood but I so love when I can just go out and run to clear my head. I love that it had become a release for me instead of a burden. Hope you have a great Thursday pretty lady.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your knee is holding up! What has the dr. said about it? I also changed up my workouts this week by doing kick boxing. Loved it and I'm still sore 2 days later! It's good to do an ole switch-a-roo once in a while.
ReplyDeleteYou're doing awesome, especially with all your knee problems! I wish I could find a good walk/running path here. None that I love...just yet anyway!
ReplyDeleteBe careful with your knee! That's the one downside to running. I hope it continues to feel better! You go girl!
ReplyDeleteWow you go girl!! That sounds like such a fun race you and your hubby did. I've heard of those and color runs and think it would be a blast to do one sometime! I still haven't tried a fitness barre class :( But I tried a new strength workout from Self magazine yesterday and my arms, shoulders, back, and core are so sore today - I love it!
ReplyDeleteDo you use a watch or anything to know the distance of your run when you go outside? Or maybe you just know the length of the trail? I always run on the treadmill so I know my distance but have been dying to get outside more!
Girl, I want to look JUST like you in the top picture. I better get those running shoes out and brush off the mound of dust! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are doing great!!! Thank you for linking up! Love reading your updates.
ReplyDeleteLove this totally going to join the link up
ReplyDeletewhat a neat place to run! and you are doing amazing!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful post. I have just started training for my first half marathon and my knees are giving me such pain. I have been trying not to push myself so hard and my friend just told me about the roller. I will have to try the tape and icing too!! I don't want to get injured. I'm going to link up with guys next month for encouragement to get my run on!!
ReplyDeleteYou're doing awesome!!
ReplyDeleteLol you are too cute..I think you're the only person who gets excited about being sore!! What caused your initial knee injury??
